With a lifelong passion and curiosity for the transformative, weird, and otherwordly powers of dreams, Sarah Janes is now an author, curator, and retreat leader. Sarah specialises in the history, culture, and practice of dreaming, ancient mystery cults, the archaeology, and memory of the soul. Working mostly in Greece (she lives in the small village Ancient Epidavros - on the beginning of the Sacred Way to the Sanctuary of Asklepios and Apollo Maleatus), Sultanahmet Istanbul, and Hastings in England.
Everywhere she explores the healing sanctuaries, oracle sites, and mystery cults of the ancient world through research, writing, dreamwork, and immersive experiences. Sarah also offers guided dream tours of the British Museum.
Sarah is the author of Initiation into Dream Mysteries: Drinking from the Pool of Mnemosyne (Inner Traditions 2022) and editor of the English translation of Myth is in Everything by mythologist and archaeologist Konstantinos Loukopoulos (Kaktos 2024).
Sarah leads Dream Mysteries Retreats in Greece, where she guides participants through sacred sites, including Elefsis, Delphi, and Epidavros, exploring healing, oracular, and collective dreaming. Sarah's work combines ancient history, mythology, dream incubation, and lived spiritual practice to investigate how the ancient world understood metamorphosis, healing, time, the soul, and encounters with the divine - and how we might still get to the essence of a living dreamworld today.
Sarah co-founded Dream Palace Athens in 2023 and has been collaborating with leading researchers in dreams, psychedelics, occult studies, and esotericism, including Prof. David Luke, Prof. Emily Selove, Dr. Pascal Michael, and Dr. Sam Gandy for many years. She is also part of the programming team for the 2026 Delphic Dreaming Conference in Delphi. Sarah is also on the team at Esoteric Tours in Istanbul, curating special interest tours in Anatolia, and she volunteers for New Hermopolis in Egypt with the visionary Hermetic Philosopher Dr. Mervat Nasser.
Alongside her retreats and research, Sarah hosts Explorers Egyptology on YouTube and hosts online and in-person conversations through The Mysteries, bringing together cultural historians, philosophers, scientists, and practitioners to explore consciousness, mythology, and philosophy. She has been co-host for Anthony Peake's popular Consciousness Hour series too.
