LIGHT, BREATH & DREAMS - at The CU

LIGHT, BREATH & DREAMS

A two-day taster workshop and Q & A at the Cube exploring the power of light, breath and dreams to alter consciousness, perception and to boost health, clarity and wellbeing.

SATURDAY

Using the Lucia No. 3 lamp - a hypnagogic light-device used in psychotherapeutic practices all over the world, ‘heliotropic’ breath-work and ancient Greek techniques for ‘dream incubation’.

This is a rare opportunity to attend a very unusual weekend workshop facilitated by the Austrian inventors of the Lucia No. 3 - Dr Engelbert Winkler and Dr. Dirk Proeckl.

THE LUCIA LIGHT

About the Lucia N°03 Light Experience

As humans, we are beings of light, and all of our cells communicate through light (this is just being confirmed now by molecular biologists in the field of bio-photonics).

The wide-spectrum solid and flickering light enters the body through the closed eyes, travels into the central brain (where the pineal gland is located) and continues through the whole body.

Thus the Lucia N°03 activates the whole cellular and energetic light system, sending energetic light waves that clear blocks, release pent up emotions and traumas and also release any other stagnant energy. This is why the Lucia N°03 light experience is great for energy workers and empaths, it helps you release what is not yours that you may have picked up on the way.

While this is happening on the physical, emotional, etheric and energetic planes, the Lucia N°03 light experience for the light traveler is an immersion into a world of colors, patterns, shapes, deep meditation, journeys, memories, lucid dreams, astral travels, etc.

"The Lucia N°03 is probably the most powerful meditation technique I've tried. It's a technology that removes us from the constant noise of modern technologies and brings us deeper into our inner selves, with effects that are real and lasting. I'm a big fan."

- James Nestor, award-winning author of the book Deep

LUCIA'S INVENTORS:

Dr. Dirk Proeckl is a neurologist and psychologist with his own medical practice in Wörgl, Tyrol, Austria. He focuses on the interaction between the psyche and the nervous system and has studied psychosomatic rehabilitation of migraines, the distribution of neurotransmitters within the central nervous system, and the epileptic potentials in the electroencephalogram. He works with Lucia N°03 in his own practice, monitoring the nervous system before and after Lucia light sessions. He recommends that clients have at least 5 Lucia sessions to help reprogram their nervous system.

Dr. Engelbert Winkler is a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, and legal consultant for children and youth with his own practice in Wörgl, Tirol, Austria. He studied philosophy, pediatrics and psychology in Innsbruck, and completed further studies in existential analysis, hypnotherapy and other disciplines. In 1994 he founded a family counseling institute named Kooperative Familienberatung and is particularly interested in the neuronal basis and effects of Near Death Experience as well as the development of new uses of the Hypnagogic Light Experience.

At the age of 7, Dr Winkler had a transformative near death experience (NDE). This led him to extensively research NDE phenomena analyzing the principals of shamanic, meditative, and esoteric traditions. Inspired by his research, he worked with Dr. Proekl to create this technology, the Lucia N3, to assist in awakening the consciousness of humanity.

In recent years the doctors have been collaborating on the topic of optimizing their methods within the Hypnagogic Light Experience with the Lucia N°03 and expanding their knowledge of resulting neurophysiological and psychological processes (including the implications for understanding synesthesia).

HELIOTROPIC BREATHWORK

PSYCHEDELIC SLEEP: LUCID DREAMING AND DREAM INCUBATION

We all dream. Dreaming is a psychedelic state of consciousness woefully underestimated and un-potentiated in most of us, but it is a state which offers the most incredible opportunity for self-development, understanding, emotional and spiritual growth. Sleep mends us, dreams truly nourish us - and yet how often do we neglect our sleep? We are sleep deprived on a national level. Most of us are sleeping far less than we should for optimal health and mental restoration. What can we achieve personally and collectively if we deepen our dream practice?

Lucid dreaming is a scientifically recognised state of consciousness - one in which we are dreaming but able to self-reflect and be self-aware. The experience produces an instantly recognisable response of euphoria and bliss. We can sometimes control the action and self-generate the content, literally morphing the world we inhabit in infinite ways and manifesting the life and characters within it.

Lucid dreaming is the ultimate trip, one that is safe and beneficial to everyone and can only ever come from within. There are easy ways to access the lucid state, they sometimes require a degree of self-discipline, but just one lucid dreaming success will make the techniques absolutely invaluable. Lucid dreaming is almost certainly the most  enriching experience a human being can have.

We are addicted to coffee and the cult of wakefulness, our brains are online. But the waking state is only one small aspect of the experience of human consciousness. The sleep states take us into invisible and imaginary realms. Through working with our sleep and dreams we can learn to fully engage with these realms and in doing so, learn to self-reflect, get new perspectives and see the bigger picture. We can be our own guru, counsellor and soulmate.

Sarah Janes is a lucid dreaming expert who has been lucid dreaming since early childhood. She's an independent researcher who has written on the subject for The Idler, The Bohemian, The Journal of Paranthropology and Ancient Origins and has just finished a book on the subject, she is also developing lucid dream inspired Virtual Reality experiences and curating events and workshops on the subject.

Sarah Janes has a particular interest in the dream incubation techniques used in the sleep temples of ancient Greece and a guided dream incubation meditation will form part of this experience.

Daniel Lee is a dream yogi and aspiring alchemist who experienced a transformative 'NDE' (Near Death Experience) in the astral plane, which resulted in healing a life threatening illness. This began a love affair with lucid dreaming and lucid living. He wants to share his active dream practice and knowledge of lucid dreaming with others to help them awaken to the dream of life.

Music and Dance in Remote Antiquity

Fort Process and The Mysteries - St. Leonards on Sea Chapter have joined forces to bring you an afternoon in the beautiful Durbar Hall in HBC Hastings Museum & Art Gallery learning from a master ethnomusicologist.

Dirk Campbell's talk went down a storm at the Brighton Early Music Festival and there can be no more perfect a setting in Hastings for listening and learning about the divine origins of music and dance.

Dirk has the incredible ability to combine a talk on the nature of music and dance in remote antiquity with actually bringing along a large and varied collection of instruments and playing them throughout.

Dirk Campbell is a British multi-instrumental musician, composer and energy company executive.

Although initially known as a member of progressive rock bands such as Egg and National Health, Campbell would later (in his own words) "(forswear) the genre of rock music altogether, even the experimental variety (where can one find that now?) and began to develop an interest in folk tradition and, increasingly, non-western music." Originally a bass guitarist, he is now a diverse multi-instrumentalist specialising in wind instruments from around the world, including period folk instruments. He is also a lecturer on "music in remote antiquity", and maintains a strong interest in "ways of incorporating non-western music into contemporary composition."

Introduction to Induction - Hypnosis Workshop

Introduction to Induction: A Workshop in Hypnosis and the Imaginal Realms with Danny Nemu

Trance is a natural, pleasurable and profound state of relaxation and focus that dissolves anxiety and accesses the creative and curative power of the unconscious.

Hypnotherapists use it to treat phobia, tinnitus and a wide range of stress-related physical conditions such as dermatitis and IBS, and it can also be used to open up lines of communication into the depths of the unconscious. For people interested in the nature of the deep mind and the art of persuasion, knowing how to hypnotise and be hypnotised is invaluable.

In Danny’s workshop, you will:
- Experience hypnotic trance, and the worlds beneath the surface of cognition.
- Hypnotise other people while mastering the basics of the Elmaninduction and practicing hypnotic language.
- Learn a technique of self-hypnosis.
- Explore the nature of the world generated by the processes of cognition.

Note: this is an experiential demonstration of hypnosis inside your own head, not on stage. We won’t need volunteers to cluck like chickens or forget their names. Of course, if you want to see or experience the more extraordinary manifestations, that it can be arranged.

Tickets £12. Please contact Danny Nemu for more info and to arrange payment.

Danny Nemu is a practicing hypnotherapist fascinated with the human mind and how to tap into its normally dormant potentials. He is the author of Neuro-Apocalypse and Science revealed, out on Psychedelic Press.

Please visit Danny’s hypnotherapy website [https://www.dannydhypnotherapy.com/] and his publisher’s site [https://psychedelicpress.co.uk/products/neuro-apocalypse]

THE ANCIENT ART OF LUCID DREAMING

Tickets & info: https://bit.ly/2NXqK2z
Venue: Old Market Assembly, Bristol
Doors: 7pm / Talk starts: 7.30pm.

Temple Sleep - Ancient dream practices for the future of consciousness. Sarah Janes will be presenting research from her book Lake of Mnemosyne - a study of the ancient practice of & 'Temple Sleep'

……………………………………………………………………………..

In the ancient world, many cultures built temples dedicated to healing through sleep and sacred dreams. Elaborate systems of fasting, dedication, ritual drama, invocation and dream interpretation remained commonplace for many thousands of years. Clearly the sleep temples were effective for many, but how? And would these old methods work today?

The practice is well-evidenced in ancient Egyptian, Greek andRoman archaeology and literature. It reveals many secrets relating to the journey of human consciousness, the evolution of memory and language, the mind-body connection, the placebo effect and the unconscious mind’s response to story and symbolism. What cosmic, earthly and human forces have influenced the way we experience the relationship between the inner and outer worlds? How might our perception have shifted since the days of sleep temples? What can the ancient cultures teach us about dreaming and the healing power of sleep? How is modern sleep research validating the effectiveness of the 'divine dream cure’?

Physical health, emotional wellbeing and cognitive functioning are inextricably entangled within the altered state we encounter in dreams. Sleep states can be easily optimised through good practice and conscious effort, but in the modern world, we often find ourselves rushed out of bed, over-stimulated, caffeinated, light-polluted and essentially not ‘fully present’.

The effect sleep has upon our happiness and fitness is woefully underestimated by contemporary zombie culture. To return to a more natural state, we have to find a way to dis-engage from the unnatural rhythms of technology and re-harmonise with biological rhythms set by the cycles of the planet. To be healthy, our circadian clock should be set by the natural phases of light and dark experienced as Earth rotates on its axis.

With each new rotation of the Earth, we emerge from darkness and enter light. As the Earth turns counterclockwise each day, we are carried about 24,900 miles, at 600mph (in the UK) and Earth orbits our Sun at 67,000mph. We live in a rhythmical, cyclical, fractal, vibrational, electrical universe - there is a living pulse. Our existence is miraculous, divine. Our perception however is manufactured. Experience, culture, language, habit and practice are the forces that have sculpted our perceptual apparatus over time and this ‘hardware’ defines the bandwidth at which our awareness is set.

If we can find a continuity, a bridge between our waking and dreaming body, we can work towards integrating our spiritual, physical and emotional selves. We can bring some wisdom from the infinite divine into the finite physical life we experience on Earth. We can sleepwalk with open eyes through the many veils that obscure us from The All. The current psychedelic renaissance aspires to these same great goals, but I believe the dream state (especially lucidity), with a bit of luck and patience, is the ultimate safe, wholesome and integrative psychedelic experience. This initiation into divinity was the highest purpose of the ancient practice of Temple Sleep. At the core was a very strongly held belief that sleeping and dreaming could permit an individual to make contact with the Gods and in doing so, change physical reality.

There is a deep truth to these claims which current science can demonstrate, albeit with different terminology. I hope to show you how to apply these ancient techniques of dream incubation for tangible expansion in your waking and sleeping life.

The Cult of Water

Join ‘a masterful storyteller’ (Radio Times) for a candle-lit journey in search of the supernatural secrets of our waterways. Aided by a witch, Jarvis Cocker, and magician-author Alan Moore, David Bramwell battles his own thalassophobia (the fear of ‘what lurks beneath’) to unearth little-known stories and myths that surround our rivers. The River Don is the focal point for this psycho-geographical journey that blends music, animation and film with captivating monologue. David Bramwell takes audiences on a dream-like journey in search of the occult secrets of our waterways and a drowned village, which has long haunted his memories. From Doncaster (where he grew up) Bramwell travels up the river Don and back in time, through the ladybird plague and drought of 1976 to the heavily polluted Don of Sheffield’s steel industry, up into the Pennines and back into a pre-Christian era when rivers and springs were worshipped as living deities. Along the journey Bramwell battles with his own thalassophobia (the fear of ‘what lurks beneath’); learns about hydromancy from magician Alan Moore, discovers a unique forest of figs growing on the banks of the Don and encounters Jarvis Cocker on his own adventures, sailing down the Don on an inflatable inner tube. His journey finally brings him face to face with the goddess of primordial waters, Danu, who gave her name to the Don. The story climaxes in Hastings, with the remarkable discovery of an ancient spring and how it came to save the life of a dying man. At heart this is a meditation on the symbolic power of rivers and inland waterways and the profound ways in which they affect our sense of well-being. As a special Hastings feature of this performance, we shall begin at the Mock Roman Bath in Summerfields Woods for a well-dressing ceremony, with ritual spring music performed by The Sound of Bailey. We invite attendees to bring flowers to dedicate to the spirits of the spring. LAST FEW TICKETS - Book over the phone by texting 07786 686 786 / Buy Online via TicketSource:  https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/date/483856 Or get in person from the Museum or Wow and Flutter Record shop 8 Trinity Street, Hastings. https://wowandflutterhastings.com

DREAM TELEPATHY EXPERIMENT - II

Join me in an experiment to explore the potential and possibilities of DREAM TELEPATHY.

To register your interest please send me an email at: sarahjanes@hotmail.com - or click on this LINK to subscribe

I often find that dreams on the night of the Full Moon have an extra potency - so join us on this auspicious night to see if we can make contact telepathically.

There are no specific instructions but some tips and hints can be found below.

The plan is to project a pre-determined image whilst I am lucid and to see if I can project this into a space that can be accessed by other distant sleepers.

  • Make a real effort to get at least a few consecutive good sleeps in before the date set for the telepathy experiment.
  • On the night - set an intention before sleeping to become lucid.
  • You could try writing down the intention to find me and see the target image I am projecting.
  • If you attain lucidity ask out loud in the dream space to be shown the target image.
  • If at any point you wake up during the night, write down any recollections, even if they are just snippets of information.
