About the retreats:

Every retreat is a little bit different, but for each we will explore temple sites and other areas of special historical, cultural and natural interest on the Argolid Peninsula - with Archaia Epidavros as our base. Hosted by myself - Sarah Janes and Nikos Smyrlis from local travel company Epidavros Travel - also our driver.

I like to meet everyone in Athens the day before the retreat starts and we travel to Epidavros. Here we can do some optional extra-curricular museum and temple visits, to get to know one another a bit, and eat effing delicious Greek food. I invite you to join me to visit the Temple of Asklepios on the Acropolis and the Shrine of the Muses on Philopappos Hill to ask the Muses for dream inspiration and memory.

Once we are in Epidavros there will be daily dream activities, one-on-one sleep hypnosis sessions, incredibly delicious local food, guided tours of museums and archaeological areas.

Itineraries typically include visits to the Sanctuary of Asklepios in Epidavros - where you can have a power nap in the ancient avaton, the Sanctuary of Demeter and Persephone in Elefsis (site of the Eleusinian Mysteries), as well as Ancient Corinth/the Healing Spring of Loutraki, Nafplio and Ancient Mycenae, the volcanic Methana peninsula and some very special caves.

Exploring Archaia Epidavros itself will delight you I’m sure - and this can include leisurely swimming over what remains of the sunken Greco-Roman city, and turtle spotting!

Kayaking is an optional extra we can help arrange for you. We will tour around the local archaeological sites including the Tomb of the Iatros (Doctors/Healers), Temple of Artemis Orthia, Sanctuary of Aphrodite (in the garden of a local hotel). There are also many Mycenaen sites and a very beautiful small seaview theatre dedicated to Dionysus.

Excavations of Archaia Epidavros are continuing today. The ancient acropolis is pregnant with the remnants of its ancient history, including the theatre, an ancient bathhouse, numerous temples, shrines and other buildings, all of which peek out of a lush drapery of olive and orange groves and wild flower meadows. Last time I visited my friend and local historian Dimitris Ginis guided us to all of his favourite spots on the ‘Nisi’ and we found two tortoises in ancient nymph niches.

Retreat costs vary a little according to retreat duration and time of year, payment plans can be offered, just email me if you are interested in coming along and I’d love to help make it happen!
